Who are we ?

My name is Peter ter Heegde (Pedro), born in the Netherlands. Since 2003 I am a certified PADI Dive-Instructor. Besides that I have more then 20 years experience with managing individual holidays and divetravel in South East Asia. Starting in Thailand (Phuket) when this was still a backpack destination and now already for more then ten years in the Philippines. The company AquAmazing Philippines is registered in Holland but I have basically been living and enjoying the good life in the Philippines for more then a decade now.

Throughout the last years I have set up a wide network of trustworthy local guides, drivers, diveshops and luxury hotels, but also basic clean and friendly accomodation on even the most remote islands. With over 7000 islands in the Philippines to be discovered this network is never finnished so even if you request a spot that we also never heard of. We are more then willing to do the research for you and if neccessary accompany you to make sure you reach your destination.

The Philippines is a beautifull country for those people lucky enough to afford themself a nice holiday once or twice a year. The majority of the local people strugle to survive on a day by day basis. The Philippines is still a developing third world country where a small elite rules the majority of poor peolple. So besides making a living for ourself we try to suport the local communities wherever we can. Through our travel activities we also hope to raise awareness of the day by day reality of living in a third world country where the extremely rich and dirt poor are living side by side on each others doorstep. One of the reasons that in 2005 we founded the LUCS foundation through which we try to suport a few less privileged children with a safe home, schooling and education.
